Today we celebrated Earth Day at Montessori. The students sang the "Water Waster" song which I am sure you have been hearing your children singing the song at home. The Upper Elementary performed a skit, "The Turtle Mishap." All of the students attended a performance.

Sturgeon City brought a touch tank with flounders. Robert from Sturgeon City is at the Farmer's Market every Saturday with the touch tank. He would love to see the children come by.

We would like to thank ONWASA, Sturgeon City, Carrie Schultz, and the Upper Elementary for providing us with meaningful experiences. The Outdoor Education staff, Ms. Tucker and Mr. Patterson, help us to be aware every day of how our actions affect our earth.

Hello Everyone,

I hope you're having a great week.

The board of directors have been talking about having a Montessori Children's School 5k.  Now is the time to start planning so we can get it on both the upcoming school calendar and Active.com calendar.

If you are interested in the 5k committee a meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 8th at 6:30 pm.

Thank you for your interest,

Margaret Melton

Board President

Question of the Day?

What is the curriculum?

The program generally extends over a nine-year period beginning with three- to six- year olds in pre-kindergarten and kindergarten and extending in elementary through fifth grade. Classes are designed with mixed age groups:  primary (3 to 6 year olds), lower elementary (6 to 9 year olds), and upper elementary (9 to 12 year olds). There are Montessori programs that continue through middle school and high school, but they are less common.
Hands-on didactic materials are available in learning areas such as practical life, sensorial, language, math (which includes geometry and algebra), and the content areas of biology, geography, history, and science.
