Dear Montessori Parents,

The date of our 5th Annual Auction, March Madness at Montessori, is fast approaching. The committee is meeting regularly. Next Wednesday the meeting will be at 6:30PM at Golden Corral. Please feel free to join us if you would like to help with the Auction. Thank you to all the families who are delivering beautiful baskets.

The proceeds from the auction have been critical to our Project Greenspace which includes the playgrounds, Outdoor Classroom and new Elementary building. This event gives our greater community a chance to get to know the school better and to contribute through sponsorship and/or ticket sales. It will be a fun evening! Please continue to sell tickets and promote the event.

Classrooms are in the "zone." I was giving a tour yesterday to a couple with three children and the father said, "It looks as if the children have been trained to present a show to us." Through the windows of the classrooms they could see students working on math, language, practical life and sensorial lessons. In Upper Elementary Eliza Patterson gave them a tour of the classroom, showed how students organize their work and introduced them to the class pets. She shared their one rule, "Be Gentle with Your Friends and with Yourself." This is the rule in Stepping Stones, Primary and Elementary. Eliza said, "It's not always easy."

Keep in mind that we will have an Open House on March 16 from 5-7 PM. This is an evening for our parents and our waiting list parents to visit the school. You can also invite someone that you would like to have see the school.
