A Letter from the Head of School
Dear Montessori Parents,
Welcome to the new school year at Montessori Children's School. We are pleased to have started off the year well (despite Hurricane Irene.)
If you are new to Montessori, let me explain a little about this letter. You will find a letter from me in most issues of the Montessori Messenger, which is emailed to you every
Friday of the school year. The Montessori Messenger will give you updates about events, classrooms, and other information at Montessori. So, you should be sure to read it as soon as you get it. My letter will provide more detail on upcoming events or delve into some aspect of Montessori educational theory.
On Saturday, September 10 we will have a Community Workday. We have a number of projects and a continued cleanup. If you would like to help us, please drop by the office and signup. It is a family friendly day, so bring your children along.
Again, many thanks to the families who have helped us get this year off to a great start!
Peggy Higgins

Music Instruction at Montessori Children's School
By Simon Spalding Fall 2011 Simon Spalding 1510 Spencer Avenue New Bern , NC 28560 Telephone 252-636-1256 E-mail: fullersteaching@yahoo.com I hope all of you had a wonderful Summer, and have survived Hurricane Irene reasonably intact! I am looking forward with great pleasure to teaching at MCS again this year. Once again, I will be offering weekly 30-minute lessons on violin at MCS on Mondays (Primary students) and Thursdays (Elementary students). I will add a third day to come teach if it is needed. Tuition for individual instrument instruction is $108 per month. Some months your child will have four lesson;, and some months he or she may have five lessons, or three lessons. The monthly tuition will remain the same. Payment for violin tuition will be due on the first lesson of the month, for that month. Checks should be made out to me ("Simon Spalding"), and they may be left for me at the school office. Instruments may be purchased (I can help suggest sources) or rented from Fuller's Music House in new Bern (252-638-2811). I can help ferry documents and/or instruments between New Bern and Jacksonville as needed. You can contact me at fullersteaching@yahoo.com, or by phone at 252-636-1256. I look forward to working at MCS this year! All my Best, Simon |
