Pampered Chef

The Pampered Chef at Elementary this week!

A fun time was had by all of the Elementary children on Tuesday as Flo Hart brought all of her Pampered Chef products from home and spent the entire day having Cooking Classes. There were 4 groups: 3 in the morning and 1 in the afternoon. Each group prepared 1 recipe to serve to the parents who attended the Tuesday evening Cooking Show. The recipes prepared were Apple Berry Salsa, Hot Pizza Dip with Baggettes, Cool & Creamy Chocolate Fondue and Chicken Clubhouse Squares. All of the children also prepared Sweet Cinnamon & Sugar Tortilla Chips to serve with 2 of the recipes. Each recipe was very delicious and the children did a fantastic job of working together and learning cooking tips. The recipes prepared can be found in The Pampered Chef "All the Best" cookbook.

Earlier in the week, each family should have received a Pampered Chef catalog with a "Wish List" marked with products the classrooms (SS-Stepping Stones, P-Primary and E for Elementary) would like to have and 2 order forms. These are for you to place an order for you and your kitchen and/or something for the classrooms. Because the NEW Elementary kitchen(s) do not have anything to cook with, all orders placed by Tuesday, Feb 15th will be helping the school receive FREE products from The Pampered Chef. Every little bit helps!! Ask a friend, relative or neighbor if they would like to order also.

On Tuesday night in the Elementary Kitchen we had a Cooking Show and prepared a 30 minute recipe - Chicken Fajitas in the Deep Covered Baker with fresh salsa and guacamole - recipe is below. It was a big hit! The Deep Covered Baker will go in the oven and microwave and is a time and money saver when cooking. The Deep Covered Baker Bundle Set is on special this month for only $99. It includes the Deep Covered Baker, the Mix N Chop, the Small Mix N Scraper and 4 recipe cards for the Deep Covered Baker. The retail price is $108. You will also receive the Guest Special for FREE because you have purchased more than $60 in products. That is $20 in products for FREE! Checkout Flo's website for 27 pages of delicious recipes for the Deep Covered Baker.

If you have any questions or want to place your order over the phone with Flo, please call 347-6591. You may also email her at harts4Him@ec.rr.com. Thank you in advance for helping our children cook while in school!! All orders with payments are due on Tuesday, February 15th. Orders should arrive at the school by the 25th.

CHICKEN FAJITAS 2 medium onions
1 green bell pepper
1 red bell pepper
4 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves
2 Tbsp. Chipotle rub
1 package fajita-size flour tortillas
8 oz shredded cheddar cheese
8 oz. Sour cream
Fresh Salsa
Guacamole

Slice onions and peppers; place in bottom of Deep Covered Baker, sprinkle with 1 Tbsp. Chipotle Rub.  Sprinkle additional 1 Tbsp. Chipotle rub over both sides of chicken and place chicken breasts on top of vegetables.  Microwave covered for 12-15 minutes, let stand with lid for 10 minutes.

Place flour tortillas in Mini Baker, cover with foil and put in the oven to warm at 250°, or warm in microwave for about 1 minute.   Cover with damp paper towel to prevent drying.

When the chicken is done, chop chicken, peppers and onions while in Deep Covered Baker with the Salad Choppers.  Serve with tortillas, cheddar cheese, sour cream, fresh salsa and guacamole.

1/4 medium red onion

1 whole jalapeno, stem removed (seeds removed if desired)

1-2 cloves garlic

1/4 c. cilantro

1 lime

1/2 t. salt
