A Letter from the Head of School
 Dear Parents,

Montessori School is offering Summer Classes for both Primary and Elementary students. We will offer classes in art, theater, foreign language, and dance. The instructors are regular members of our faculty as teachers of special classes. We have Vincent Holmes for dance, Karen Popkin for Spanish, Lindsey Millice for art and Sharon Veitch for theater.

Each class will offer interesting, exciting and stimulating activities for your children while they are out of school for the summer. You may register your child for any number of weeks-or for all six weeks. The classes will be attuned to your child's age and grade level.

Theater Arts with Sharon Veitch

Does your child love performing? If so, Theater Arts at summer class is just the ticket! Students kindle their natural creative spirits by exploring every aspect of theater performance, from set and costume design to improvisation and voice projection. And don't miss the end of summer performance!

Movement and Dance with Mr. Vincent

Through a variety of age appropriate activities from basic movement to expressive movement, improvisation, technical dance instruction, students develop a body awareness that strengthens their confidence, physical coordination and skills.

Visual Arts with Lindsey Millice

Students develop their creative talents using a variety of techniques and media. New frontiers of design, choice and styles emerge as students use their artistic skills through fun and expressive projects.

Basic Spanish with Karen Popkin

Basic Spanish helps the child to learn the fundamentals of the Spanish language. The alphabet, pronunciation and elementary vocabulary words are emphasized. This is a course in which the child participates instead of being an observer. In addition to the Montessori 3-part cards, the class will be supplemented with books in Spanish and current events that can be explained in Spanish.

We are proud to offer these programs for the summer and feel that they offer positive growth experience for our Montessori students. Please let me know if you have any questions before registering. An email will follow the newsletter with the registration form attached. Forms will also be available at the school.

Show your support for Mother Earth

On Saturday, March 27 from 8:30-9:30 pm local time; turn off your lights for one hour to express your support for action on climate change. Across the globe, more than a billion people will participate in Earth hour, shutting off lights in homes, public places and at national monuments. This year, 17 countries will switch off for the first time, along with iconic landmarks worldwide, including the Tokyo Tower and Rome's Coliseum, bringing the total to 117 countries.

Enjoy this beautiful Spring weather with your family. We thank you for all the loving support you give us season after season.
