A Letter From the Head of School

Dear Montessori Parents,

The staff and Board of Montessori Children's School send best wishes to you and your family for a healthy and prosperous New Year. Thank you for making this a great year at Montessori Children's School. Your vision, dedication, and hard work are wonderful to behold.

At the end of the year approaches and you consider tax deductible donations, we want to remind you that we are a 501(c)(3) Corporation. If you are planning to make some donations in order to meet your tax goals we would like you to keep us in mind. This morning one of our parents  came in with a $5000 check to add to our building fund and we were once again reminded of the generosity of our Montessori families.

This year Phase I of Project Greenspace has been completed and the new improvements have elevated the outdoor-based physical and environmental program to the high standards of our indoor curriculum. Our  next step is to secure funding for a new building. In order to secure the growth of our Elementary  program  we must build a new building to support the increase in enrollment and ensure the future of two Lower Elementary classes and one Upper Elementary class.

It is our desire to provide not only the most respected Montessori  based curriculum, but also showcase the diverse talents of our students in a facility worthy of their growing capabilities.

Thank you for al l the ways you show your trust and support. Enjoy your time with friends and family during the holidays.

Sincerely,

Peggy Higgins

 Head of School

PTO News

Have you ever sat back and thought:  I really like the Montessori Logo and would love to place it on more of my childs clothing but it gets so expensive to order sometimes?  Well, we have a solution.  Yay!!  The PTO has ordered iron-on logo patches that will be on sale in the office the first of the year.  They will be 2" in height and the price is one for $3 or two for $5.  We believe this is a great idea for bookbags, jackets, sweatshirts or even parent attire.  Have a great holiday season, we will see you next year!
Sincerely,
PTO Parents

AUCTION - AUCTION - AUCTION - AUCTION

Ever wonder how we make so much money with our Annual Auction Gala?  In part, it is because of the wonderful donations from local businesses that bring in so much money in the silent and live auctions.  In part it is because of the fabulous family baskets.  But in large part, it is because it is the best deal in town!  Where else could you possibly get all the food you can eat and all the wine and beer you can drink for $35 per person - while listening to great live music?  "How can we offer all of this for so little, you ask?"  Because of the extraordinary generosity of many of our local restaurants and beverage providers!  Our original goal two years ago was to get 10 restaurants to donate enough food to feed 50 people each.  Last year, we had almost 20 restaurants provide food at no cost!!  As a "thank you" to these restaurants, we hope that our Montessori families will chose to dine at these establishments if you are going out to eat and please be sure to thank them for their food donation while you are there!!  And get ready to eat!

Restaurants committed to the Auction so far:
