About the Exhibit
A man more amazing than myth, George Washington Carver never invented peanut butter, nor did he create 300 new peanut products. The truth about him is much more interesting than the myths. Carver's fascinating life story is tale of a true American hero, who trans-cended unimaginable adversity to become a scientist, conservationist, educator, and humanitarian.
This traveling exhibit from The Field Museum in Chicago highlights Carver's life and career, revealing both his struggles and his remarkable achievements as it brings together more than one hundred artifacts, along with animated and live videos, interactive displays, a diorama of Carver's childhood farm, and a re-creation of the Jesup wagon, his mobile classroom.
