Engaging the World: "We Are THANKFUL" Diocesan Buffet & Fair Trade Expo
|
|
This Saturday, November 21 you will have an opportunity to get an early start on your Christmas shopping, help the Youth Ministry raise money to fight hunger in our diocese, support fair-trade vendors from around the world, and enjoy a potluck supper with diocesan friends, all at one event -- the "We Are THANKFUL" Diocesan Buffet & Fair Trade Expo from 5-8 p.m. at St. Luke's Montclair.
Groups from across the diocese are donating the food, and vendors who sell fair trade items will be on-hand to offer great gifts to buy for the holidays or for yourself! (Fair trade vendors pay their suppliers a living wage and often use environmentally conscious products and practices.)
Tickets: adults $10; children under 12, $5. The Youth Ministry will use the proceeds from the dinner to benefit food pantries and feeding programs throughout the diocese.
For more information, tickets or to register your dish, please contact Kaileen Alston, 973-430-9991. (Download PDF flyer.)

2010 Pledge for Diocesan Ministry
|
|
Pledge materials have been mailed to congregations and are also available online. In addition to the pledge form, we have included a narrative budget summary that highlights how your Diocesan Budget and Finance Committee proposes to allocate resources in the coming year.
We are all mindful of the financial challenges we faced this year and the uncertainty regarding 2010. This year, however, as we continue to grow in mutual ministry and develop the covenant among us all, we are asking congregations to consider the tithe as the minimum pledge percentage for 2010.
2010 pledges should be returned to the Finance Office no later than December 4, 2009.
If you have any questions or need assistance with the pledge process, please contact Diocesan CFO Rich Graham, 973-430-9983.
