Now, after eight years of war in Afghanistan, President Obama has recently raised the stakes of sending additional troops, thirty thousand more, or a total of one hundred and thirty thousand brave men and women in uniform into harm's way, say nothing of subcontracted personnel there already in supportive roles from the State or Defence Department.
In all due respect to our President, you cannot fight a 15th century mindset with 21st century ammunition.
These men have been brainwashed to value death more than the western mindset values life. These people have historically been traders, black market dealers and deal-makers and have always been tribal in their makeup and loyalties. Corruption is something we understand from a Western definition, but in Afghani culture, its their way of trading goods and services from one person ortribe to another. In short: its their capitalism. They value honor and its a dishonor to transgress on their land and dishonor their faith, customs and traditions and that's why Obama's decision won't and cannot work. Military might won't work with misguided religious wrongs.
How to bring foreign state-less states into the 21st Century is what this war is all about. State-less cultures don't value governments and have always opposed transgressors, occupiers, and those who trespassed their lands, their religion or belief systems. Its like two cultures colliding. Its like twoideologies colliding or two worlds in a time warp colliding. No army can win in a winless war fought with a total misunderstanding of various disconnects and misunderstandings.
While I support President Obama, I don't support more American blood and treasury being spent on wasted wars. A smart war, is different. This is not a smart war. Its infact a dumb war being fought with uneducated dumb people. If I have my druthers, I would take all women of child bearing age and bring them to the West and leave the men to self-destruct and kill each other off. That's one way of winning this war and saving our heroes, our soldiers from coming home dead for nothing, or maimed to live half lives in a wheelchair.
As you know, I was in Iraq and few months ago and I spoke with many soldiers deployed over and over again to both Iraq and Afghanistan. While they all want to "obey their Commander-in-Chief" the President of the United States, privately they don't understand why we're the predominate "nation-builder" of the world or "Policemen of the world" as they see their families destroyed with divorced, a nation whose economy is practically owned by the Chinese and who don't see the end-game or mission on a win-win basis.
Regular Army troops aren't prepared for this insurgency. A counter-insurgency United States Army would be better prepared to use and deploy in this war, which by the way is being waged in Afghanistan when the real enemy of ignorance is in Pakistan where Maddrassahs teach the adherence of the Koran and 72 Vestal Virgins as you gateway to heaven.
