EMPLOYMENT VS DEPLOYMENT

As President Obama ponders his strategy options in Afghanistan, its important that each of us have an opinion as an active citizen.  Today, I chatted with Max Cleland, Former Senator from the great state of Georgia, who lost three limbs in Viet Nam.  Max and I both agree that before another American Life is wasted, before more American treasury is spent, its important to understand these wasted war manifestos.

One:  These are tribal cultures still caught up in the fifteenth centuries.  Outside of cellular phones and televisions, you would think you're back in medieval times.  Ninety percent of these men and women can't read or write.  Warlords rule!  They grow Poppy flowers or manufacture heroin much as the Dutch grow tulips for export. Its a business, and its business most Americans buy into when they do heroin.  In effect, Americans are helping fund the enemy and helping kill fellow American's in uniform.

This Afghanistan war now has entered its eighth year. Its lasted longer than World War II and in a few months will last longer than Viet Nam, our longest war ever. We've already lost 435 men and women in Afghanistan and their Mothers and Fathers are all asking why? Why are our boys and girls dying for what?

Should Obama approve endangering another 40 thousand American lives for a wasted war in a wasteland of illiterates?  Should our overall strategy be "nation-building?" Do we really want to build a country caught up in the fifteenth century?

Do you really know how the Pakistani Madrassahs fit into the scheme of things?  Madrassahs are religious schools that is the breeding grounds for Islamic Radicalism.  Where do you think most of the fanatics are coming from?

The Iraqi war is, in part a religious war fought between the Sunni's and the Shia's and we're destined to leave there by 2011 as part of the Obama Doctrine, but the Afghanistan war must have an end-game strategy cause there is no winning or losing there. Its a war-game we should never of played to begin with without understanding the strategy, mission and endgame.

Women and children are the real victims of this senseless mess there in Afghanistan.  These are economic wars yelling out from the lost souls of lost societies that are crying out for help. These madrassahs are successful only because they give these children three meals per day, clothes and bed them and in retrun, teach them radical Islamic preaching cause they don't have other options. There is no bridge to Western economic self-support as you know it. In effect, there is no options here other than war since they hate "freedom."

Pakistan is part of the problem, not the solution.  Afghanistan is where the problem child is crying out for salvation and the Western world only knows how to send troops into a world still caught up with cave-men who want to rule, rule mostly women.  These always have been the victims of caveman mentalities.

If women and children were able to simply leave Afghanistan, this war would self destruct simply by men who would know only how to kill  eachother and this would be good. They simply wouldn't know how to multiply and in time would die off.

America needs a rationale approach other than war to win these flea-ticky wars.  No American should die for a senseless, aimless country that is only known by the word "corruption" and druglords.  Its time to make radical sense from a senseless war.
