American Health Association Announces
An Editorial by the President of American Health
Boca Raton, FL - September 21, 2009,
There is a total misconception of the ongoing debate in Washington, D.C. about healthcare. Its a misnomer to think we're discussing "healthcare" when in reality, we as a nation have nothing short of "sick-care or disease-care" as the ongoing principals and practice of medicine in this country.
If you're sick you make an appointment with your physician. If you awake with pains in your chest, you call the ambulance to take you to the Emergency Room of your nearest hospital. If you suspect a lump in your tissues, its off to your Oncologist.
Its "reactive" medicine at its best as practiced by doctors, specialists and hospitals, and more importantly, by insurance companies and the drug industry. Its a vast monopoly of greed that is overweighing the United States economy like a 900 pound gorilla and the economy is suffocating by the lack of common sense and oxygen in the room while the 900 pound gorilla gains another 100 pounds every month, killing 1000 people a week by this insanity in Congress.
The climate and culture of medicine that permeates this country is killing common sense. Washington can't get passed the "greed" that only K-Street and the vast network of lobbyist who really dictate medicine in this country.
There are six lobbyist for each Congressmen in Congress. Each lobbyist portends money for each Congressmen, hoards of money. Its lobbyist and money or the greed of the status-quo and the ideology of status-quoist that snuffs out any rationale and pragmatic dialogue when it comes to any debate on healthcare in this country, and the GOP or Grand Old Party we used to know has become the "NO party" on every issue, especially healthcare. I urge everyone to read Thomas L. Friedman's opinion in the New York Times dated September 17th. 2009.
Most American's aren't really ready for "proactive" health or healthcare. Preventative health is too much to bare for 99% of Americans. We're already the "fattest" nation on earth and the estimate is that 61% of us are overweight while obesity is the silent disease manufacturer of our times killing more and more Americans than any war this country ever fought. What we have here is a war. A war on insanity. A war on FAT!
Are American's really ready for Self-Healthcare? The answer is a loud no. Is America really ready to change the eating habits of processed foods, fried foods, and chemically fed beef. The answer is a loud NO! Does America know how to exercise as a culture (only 17% of Americans ever exercise), the answer is a loud NO!
Does America know the difference between Healthcare and Disease or Sick-Care? The answer is a loud NO!
