My Path Back To Competition by Darryl T.
It is weird how a specialization within a sport can carve the nature of one's athleticism. I was a gymnast and swimmer in college focusing on strength and speed and it shows in my physique. I am by no means a skinny runner who chugs along on a 135 lb frame. I am a 5'11", 185 lb sprinter with muscle, especially the sprinter legs. Yet, I find myself intrigued by the concept of taking my body to the limit by attempting to change my sprinter mentality to an endurance and triathlon champion. MORE |
Run Club Returns To Naperville
ET Run Club is open to everyone - regardless of fitness level or running experience!! The experienced and certified coaches of Experience Triathlon invite you to come join one of our regular group runs that are held on Saturday mornings at 8 AM. We run outside year round, and we run in small groups according to distance and pace. The distance typically ranges from 3 to 7 miles on any given run, and we make sure no one runs alone. One of the highlights of our group run is the coffee social hour held after every run - after all, who doesn't run to eat? MORE |
The Perfect Storm - Ironman Florida by Joe L.

As I turned the last corner, I could hear the crowds and see the lights. My eyes wet and my arms were raised the entire last 0.2 miles. I was floating. It was happening again. I was transformed once again to another dimension in time... MORE |
Relax! It's good for you. by Coach Judie
You hear it all the time, I bet, and probably from your friends and family who don't share your passion for competition. "You just need to relax!" Relaxing seems to be everywhere in popular culture, something we long for but rarely let ourselves do. But what if it would make you faster? Or make it possible for you to race longer, with less fatigue? Before you start plumping up the pillows on your couch for your long winter's nap, I'm referring to relaxing during your training and especially during your races! MORE |
