My Ironman Journey by Kevin M.
Last year was a big year for me! I decided to do my first triathlon longer than a sprint. In December '09, my sister said, "I signed you up for the October 17 th Austin, TX 70.3 Half Ironman! You'll have over 10 months to train for it." Of course I said, "Ok, I'll do it." MORE |

Finding ME! by Tina J.
I have always thought of myself as a strong person. I think you have to be to move six times in a marriage. But, there came a moment in my life, about two years ago, that made me question my inner strength. That was the moment when I decided that I need to focus on me so I could find the person that got lost in being a wife and mom. MORE |

Three Years in the Making by Tyler H.
My story starts three years ago (2009) before I met Coach Joe. The prior year, I attended the Naperville Tri with my dad to watch one of his friends race. I said right then and there that I was doing this race next year. The year went by and as we approached the next summer I was still telling my mom to sign me up. At packet pick-up, Experience Triathlon had a table set up so we grabbed a flyer. MORE |

Swim, Bike, Done! by Matt B.
About 16 years ago I tore my ACL, had it surgically repaired and proceeded to spend the next 12 or so years doing whatever I wanted physically. Fast forward to my orthopedic surgeon's office in 2007 as he showed me an x-ray of my left knee pretty much devoid of cartilage and explained I should stop running in order to defer the need for the inevitable knee replacement. Until then, I had done a couple of sprint triathlons, but then resorted to swimming and cycling for fitness. MORE |
A Personal Record at Naperville Tri by Rafael P.
Race day has become routine for me, having done races at all levels from sprint to the Ironman. The HRMS Naperville sprint is a favorite of mine because of the proximity, the flat course and the usually good weather. This race day began as usual: I had my equipment packed, I had fueled and was out the door early to try and get a little warm-up in before the race. MORE |
