Servidyne Enables $11 Million in Energy Reduction at One of the World's Largest Luxury Hotel Chains
Servidyne's relationship with the hotel chain began with its proprietary CMMS called iTendant�, benchmarking and utility monitoring. It then grew to a three-year Energy Management Solution Program designed to reduce energy consumption through applied engineering services.
The three-year challenge began with conducting assesments of the properties through comprehensive baseline energy audits for new hotels, continuous commissioning assessments for existing hotels and the identification and analysis of new energy savings opportunities throughout the portfolio. After the initial assessments were completed, Servidyne and the luxury hotel chain began developing a strategic annual operating plan for implementing improvements, maintaining performance, and measuring results.

How Did You Celebrate Earth Day 2011?
We hope you didn't forget that April 22 was Earth Day. Did you know that Earth Day is a relatively new holiday and was first celebrated in 1970? Since its start, Earth Day activities have grown more popular every year - now making it one of the largest civil observances in the world.
So how did you celebrate Earth Day? Here are a few suggestions to keep in mind for next year:
- Plant a tree
- Go outside an play / visit a park (the world's first national park was started in 1872 at Yellowstone National Park in the U.S.)
- Walk, bike or take the bus to work (one bus carries as many people as 40 cars)
- Start recycling (84 percent of all household waste can be recycled)
- Switch to more energy efficiency light bulbs
- Cancel junk mail (catalogs, credit card companies)

Servidyne at the ALCA Conference
Servidyne participated in the Spring 2011 Advanced Load Control Alliance conference in San Antonio April 6-7. Utility representatives from across the country attended this event. During the conference, Servidyne presented a proven approach to enable complex building owners and operators (commercial office, hotels, healthcare) to successfully participate in and benefit from Utility Demand Response Programs across the U.S. and Canada.
