Did you know?

Servidyne recovered nearly $75,000 for the United Way

Find out how!

Welcome to this month's edition of your friendly Servidyne newsletter.  I think this is a particularly interesting issue, as we feature a wide range of energy challenges and potential solutions.

One of the topics we have all been reading about related to energy and the environment is electric vehicles.  When I think of them, the image that comes to mind is of the new passenger cars coming onto the market to join the hybrids that have been out for several years now.  However, our focus is on all electric TRUCKS - in this case fleet trucks.  The economics for an operator of fleet delivery trucks to convert to electric is particularly compelling, and of course they can have a tremendously positive environmental benefit in the urban areas in which they tend to be driven.  We've developed a unique solution to designing and building the infrastructure necessary to support fleet truck deployments, and I hope you enjoy reading about it.

Another topic that has been getting much media play is the adoption of exciting new energy efficiency requirements for large metropolitan areas.  We are featuring the Greener,Greater Buildings Plan in New York City this month, and what we can do to help owners and operators of existing buildings who face compliance challenges in that program.  A similar program was officially announced last week for San Francisco, and other cities and states are expected to follow suit.  With the recent push in this area from President Obama, it looks like this will be an area of national policy discussion as well.

Thanks for allowing us to be part of your solution around energy efficiency and sustainability, and happy reading!

Servidyne Develops EV Charging Infrastructure for Snack Food Manufacturing Company

EV Case StudyHaving long been on the forefront of emerging energy technology, Servidyne has recently begun installing Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (ESVE) at some of its larger customer facilities. The move to invest expertise and development in to the Electric Vehicle (EV) market was a logical evolution for Servidyne as it has already proven an industry leader in energy efficiency consulting and controls on an enterprise level.

Therefore, it comes as no surprise that when the country's largest manufacturer and distributor of snack foods, a subsidiary of a Fortune 100 company and operator of the world's seventh largest privately-owned fleet, decided to begin converting to EV technology they first approached Servidyne to be sure the initiative met their established energy goals.

NYC Greener, Greater Buildings Plan
Are you ready?

Everyone's talking about the basics of the NYC Greener, Greater Buildings Plan, but did you know?

  • The square footage to enter in Portfolio Manager is not the same as the figure shown by the Department of Finance, nor is it your REBNY rentable square footage?

  • If your building has a data center and/or trading floor space, there are new requirements for how to treat this space in Portfolio Manager that could dramatically change your ENERGY STAR score?

  • For ConEd steam customers, it may be beneficial to wait until after March 21st to submit your data?

  • If you are using the NYSERDA Focus CRE benchmarking tool, you don't have to enter your data directly into Portfolio Manager?
