 October is Energy Awareness Month

Greetings again, and happy reading. The theme of this months' newsletter is about energy awareness, and it's a subject worthy of much discussion.

Awareness of the costs of energy, and of the fact that energy consumption isn't entirely fixed but highly variable in a business, is the "aha" moment that begets the best energy efficiency and sustainability programs. This heightened sense of being aware also enables building owners and operators to benchmark and track energy consumption and costs, providing a measurable means of recording progress over time.

To support the growing demand for real-time energy consumption information, Servidyne is pleased to introduce our new AutoStart solution. This inexpensive service gathers real time energy data from as many as eight meters on a site or campus and provides a rich suite of graphics and reporting capabilities over a web interface. Look for more on this service in next month's newsletter.

Now is a great time to get started on a plan toward energy savings. What are you doing for Energy Awareness Month? We would love to hear about it. Post your comments on the Servidyne Facebook Fan Page at www.facebook.com/servidyne or on the Servidyne blog My Energy Coach at www.servidyne.com/blog.

Not sure where to get started? Give Servidyne a call!

Happy Reading,

Servidyne Sponsors Special Energy Track at the GreenBusiness Works Expo
Energy "Conference within a Conference", Oct. 27 in Atlanta, Georgia

Energy efficiency and sustainability are at the heart of the GreenBusiness Works EXPO's
Energy "Conference within a Conference". The Southeast consistently ranks among the nation's fastest-growing regions, yet it is one of the least active with respect to energy-efficiency programs. The Southeast Energy Efficiency Alliance (SEEA), a coalition formed to promote energy-efficiency policies and practices in the region, is furthering its mission by hosting this energy track in partnership with EXPO sponsor, Servidyne.

Those who have a primary focus on energy and the future of energy will want to attend these sessions. Join us and learn about:
  • Energy Policy and Finance - How do they intersect?
  • How to Design and Implement a Strategic Energy Program
  • Delivering Energy Efficiency and Sustainability - Case Studies
  • What is a Smart Grid?

Servidyne Increases Energy Savings Through
Retro-commissioning
55 West Monroe, Chicago, Illinois

Servidyne ComEd RCx
Servidyne conducted a retro-commissioning analysis on 55 West Monroe in downtown Chicago through ComEd's Smart IdeasSM program.

With the help of Servidyne, building managers discovered opportunities that significantly reduced energy consumption and increased the comfort of the building's occupants.

"...Servidyne did an excellent job of working with building ownership, our vendors and the building's management team," said Ann Montilla, general manager, Jones Lang LaSalle. Montilla added, "One of the most successful aspects of this project was that Servidyne was willing to share their knowledge with

Jones Lang LaSalle's on-site engineering team so that portions

of the work could be completed in-house. This helped reduce the

overall cost of the project.
