Servidyne's Bright Future
One of the most important things you can do to control energy and operating costs over the lifetime of a building is to commit to an ongoing investment in preventive maintenance. The right maintenance program can not only lower energy costs but actually extend the life of assets that often represent millions of dollars in capital costs. The people who use your building will thank you too, for a well maintained building is a consistently comfortable building for its occupants. Think of your building like you think of your car or your home; treating it right over the long term will serve you well. At Servidyne, we're proud of our long legacy of helping clients design and implement preventive maintenance programs, which is the focus of this month's newsletter.

We'd like to also make you aware of one other thing - we've redesigned our website, and added a new blog feature, My Energy Coach. The blog will feature articles and content developed by our employees about what energy efficiency means to them in their personal lives as well as their professional lives. Please take a look at www.servidyne.com, and let us know what you think.

Thank you and happy reading.

Best Practices on Facility Maintenance
From Our Portfolio of Building Customers
Author: Jim Davis, VP Commercial & Hospitality Solutions, Servidyne

Best Practices on Facility MaintenanceOn a regular basis, the Client Services department at Servidyne gets requests from clients to share ideas from our portfolio of building customers. The career experience of the Client Services team totals more than 150 years of combined expertise in over 30 countries on facility management and building efficiencies. Here are a few best
practices that our clients share on facility and energy efficiencies.
  • Be proactive. Use all available resources to identify and correct tenant issues before they become identifiable by the tenant.
  • Save money and time by doing a complete review of nameplate information in your system so that service providers have complete access to the information while performing scheduled preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Remember, mechanical assets that are well maintained with scheduled preventive maintenance use less energy and have longer operational lifecycles than poorly maintained assets.
