Servidyne's Green Celebration | |
Happy Spring to all of you from all of us at Servidyne! Each and every spring, it is always a pleasure to watch the earth turn green and vibrant again, and it's been amazing to watch as Earth Day has become a real part of our social consciousness every April. We're pleased to join with you in celebrating Earth Day this April by renewing our commitment to work with you to be good and faithful stewards of the resources that get put to use every day in operating your buildings. From energy conservation to LEED Certification, Servidyne is here to help you meet your sustainability goals while improving your bottom line.
We have a special treat this month - our first Energy Star video! We've taken a humorous approach to an important topic, reducing building energy usage, by submitting this video and a blog entry to the Energy Star National Building Competition's "Working off the Waste Campaign". We hope you enjoy it, and that you please share it with your friends and colleagues. By the way, in case you are curious the acting "talent" is none other than our own Sr. Vice President of Engineering, Barry Abramson and our Director of Project Development, Brent Tracy. As you will see, they really do love what they do!

EPA's National Building Competition | | Working Off the Waste with ENERGY STAR®
Ever wonder what happens when energy industry leaders are put to the test?
Well, the wait is over! The EPA has challenged energy industry leaders across the country to the first National Building Competition: Working Off the Waste with ENERGY STAR®.
For the past several months, energy coaches have been perfecting their plans of action, teaching their constituents better ways to use energy resources to save money, becoming more eco-friendly, and increasing overall building efficiency and productivity.
Coach Barry Abramson with Servidyne, has developed a plan focused on developing an Energy Waste Loss Program centered around implementing a retro-commissioning in existing buildings.
Need to see Coach Barry in action? Check out the Working Off the Waste Workout Video to see "The Building" taking its first steps in implementing Coach Barry's retro-commissioning plan. |
Take Your Building to a More Sustainable Level | | With Servidyne's
Retro-commissioning Services
As today's energy costs and utility bills continue to be volatile, identifying problem areas within your buildings can save you significant amounts of energy and money.
Servidyne can help improve your performance levels by studying your facilities and their energy conversion and consumption systems. Over time, these systems and the controls that operate them become less efficient, resulting in buildings that are less comfortable, less reliable, and more expensive to operate.
Retro-commissioning (RCx), the process of commissioning an existing building, offers property owners and building operators a way to improve building efficiency, comfort, and reliability. And the best part? These benefits go hand-in-hand with reduced energy consumption and lower operating costs. Plus, our retro-commissioning reports contain numerous low and no-cost improvement measures your maintenance staff can implement quickly.
Here are a few of the benefits of retro-commissioning provides:
For Property Owners & Building Operators
- Reduced energy consumption and costs
- Reduced environmental impact
- Improved operating costs
For Your Building
- Improved system operation - beyond preventive maintenance
- Improved equipment performance
For Occupants
- Improved occupant comfort
- Improved indoor environmental quality (IEQ)

Building Improvement Today | | For a Better Tomorrow
Your buildings' design, maintenance, and operation can have a tremendous impact on the environment by:
- Consuming large amounts of energy, water and other natural resources,
- Producing large amounts of waste, and
- Potentially contributing to air, water, and noise pollution.
A world-wide call to action has been set forth in effort to REDUCE environmental impact and carbon footprints. Is your building up for the challenge?
The best approach towards a greener tomorrow requires an in-depth look at how you're living today. What's your energy profile telling you?
- How much energy do you consume on a daily basis?
- What is your current carbon footprint?
- How do you compare with other buildings and portfolios similar to yours?
At Servidyne, we understand how important it is to operate greener, healthier, financially efficient buildings. Our Environmental Sustainability Solutions allow you to track, monitor, improve, and sustain your facilities. We can optimize your building's performance with sustainable practices.
Here are a few of our sustainable solutions:
- LEED® Services - To help your buildings grow greener.
As members of the USGBC (U.S. Green Building Council), our team includes LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Accredited Professionals. Just one more way for us to show we are 100% dedicated to creating a more sustainable generation.
- ENERGY STAR® Certifications - To help you stand out among the crowd. Taking part in this nationally run program, offered by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy, means a lot to us. Certifications of excellence are awarded to companies who actively use energy efficient products and practices. As an eight time ENERGY STAR® Partner of the Year award winner and having achieved the recognition for Sustained Excellence, Servidyne understands your goals and can help your building reach its full potential by meeting and surpassing energy efficiency standards.
- Energy Audits- One of the many services provided by Servidyne's team of engineers, the energy audit serves as an essential starting point for increasing building performance and increased energy efficiency. Energy audits provide building owners with an updated road-map of their asset infrastructure and energy usage and costs. Audits let you know where you are today, and what you can do to realize a better tomorrow.
- Demand Response with Fifth Fuel Management ™- Demand Response (DR) programs offer incentives to those who choose to temporarily reduce electricity usage. Get paid for participating, while also reducing your electricity use. You can become more financially and environmentally responsible during high demand periods. What is Fifth Fuel Management™? Servidyne's Fifth Fuel Management is a near real-time energy efficiency and demand response management service. With no increase to your staff, our web-enabled technology allows you to opt-in, opt-out, or modify DR requests from the utility. By participating, you will get paid from your utility in return for lowering your energy usage in high-demand times.
