| Declaration of Independence |
Greetings!
This information is from The Arc of the United States. We gladly forward it here, with some editing to make it appropriate for Indiana.
Congress is in the process of putting together health care reform legislation. We desperately want long term services and supports (LTSS) to be addressed as part of health care reform.
We have been focused on the potential cuts to the Indiana state budget for services for persons with disabilities. Your voice is important now, to help Members of Congress understand the connection between the state Medicaid budget crisis and the need to include sustainable long term care financing and program improvements in federal health care reform legislation.
Join the Declaration of Independence and Choice in Health Care Reform movement. Please read on to see what you can do between now and the 4th of July, and thank you for all that you do.

Please support health reform legislation that:
(1) ensures that the private insurance system covers ALL Americans so that Medicaid and Medicare are not the only options for coverage of people with disabilities;
(2) incorporates long term services and supports; and
(3) strengthens the Medicaid program so that it provides accessible, high-quality, health care services to people with disabilities enrolled in the program. |

Support the Foundation |
|
The Peak Community Services Foundation provides support to persons with developmental disabilities who are on waiting lists for services.
There are over 19,000 people in the State of Indiana on waiting lists now - at least 200 in Cass and Pulaski Counties - and the wait time will be over 10 years.
