STATE OF THE CITY & STATE OF THE SCHOOLS LUNCHEON

Mayor Doug Tessitor will be the keynote speaker at the annual State of the City and Schools Luncheon hosted by the Glendora Chamber of Commerce.  Among other topics, Mayor Tessitor will discuss the city's successful labor negotiations, pension reform, the status of Glendora's redevelopment agency and the progress of The Gold Line.

 

Speaking in addition to the Mayor will be Superintendent/President of Citrus College, Dr. Geraldine Perri, Glendora Unified School District Superintendent Dr. Robert Voors, and Charter Oak Superintendent Dr. Michael Hendricks. The Glendora Chamber is pleased to announce that Glendora Police Chief Robert Castro will also be joining this years program.

 

The luncheon will be held on Thursday, January 19th at 11:30 am at the Glendora Country Club.  Members of the business and residential community are invited.  The $25 cost includes lunch.  Reservations are mandatory and must be honored.  Please contact the Glendora Chamber of Commerce at 626-963-4128 for further information or to make reservations.

ALL California employers, regardless of size, MUST post a current employment poster in a conspicuous place in the workplace where all employees and applicants can see it. You may need to order several to ensure that your business, branches, and satellite offices are displaying the poster according to the law.

California law is very strict with regard to posting the California Employment Poster and required notices. Failure to post only one notice, as required by law, may result in a penalty of up to $17,000.

NOMINATIONS BEING ACCEPTED FOR CITIZEN OF THE YEAR

Glendora organizations and Citizens have until Friday, February 10th to submit their nomination form for Glendora's 2011 Citizen(s) of the Year. Nomination forms are available at the Glendora Chamber of Commerce, located at 131 E. Foothill Blvd. You may also download the form from the Chamber's website www.glendorachamber.org. Forms must be delivered to the Chamber office by Friday, February 10th at 5:00 p.m. No nominations will be accepted after the deadline.

Glendora service clubs and non-profit support organizations comprise the board of the Citizen of the Year committee and elect the recipient(s). This year's recipient(s) will be selected on Thursday, February 16th.

The Citizen of the Year banquet honoring this years' recipient(s) will be held on Thursday, April 19th at the Glendora Country Club.
