Has anyone noticed the political ad currently running on television placing the State of Ohio's job creation in the 48 position? A sad situation for this wonderful state we are living in and so proud of its heritage. Well, that is no longer the case. Granted this ad is based on past history, but good news, Ohio has worked its way up in the ranks to the 24th position. While our nation's current unemployment rate stands at 8.2 (based on May 2012 statistics), the statewide average has fallen to 7.3 percent with Medina County's unemployment rate even better, dropping from 6.3 in March 2012 to 5.6 for April.
This year the Greater Medina Chamber of Commerce has had the privilege of attending the following ribbon cuttings in its sincere effort to show our organization's support and interest in the success of our city's new and relocated businesses. The Chamber's famous gold ribbon cutting scissors. . . .

Medina Creative Housing was recently awarded the Michael Berken Peace and Justice Award. This award is presented by the Catholic Commission of Wayne, Ashland and Medina to individuals and organizations pursuing and advancing justice and peace in our local communities and beyond.
