What have we done for you lately?  

 
Sometimes we get so wrapped up in the projects and programs we forget to tell you just what it is we are doing. Since I haven't written a column in two months there is a lot of information and it is longer than usual but should give you an idea of what is going on at the Chamber and in the community.  
 
Jaclyn Ringstmeier has joined the Chamber staff as our Vice President. Her primary responsibility will be membership but she will also participate in our economic development and business advocacy efforts. Jaclyn joins us with years in the banking industry and her high standards for customer service and relationship building will serve our chamber well. The Board of Directors passed a resolution several months ago supporting the oil and gas development for Ohio. This exciting opportunity to improve the economic circumstances in Ohio is already making a difference in many areas. It is estimated that we will see more local efforts in about a year as the development moves west.  . . .

2012 MONTHLY MEMBERSHIP MEETING SCHEDULE

 

Beginning January 2012 the Greater Medina Chamber of Commerce will assess a $2 invoice fee on invoices for all events.  To avoid the invoice fee, you can pay with check, cash or VISA/MC before the event or with check or cash at the door.  If paying from an invoice is preferred, the $2 fee will be waived if payment is received within thirty days of the event.

All payments with VISA or MC can be made online through the Chamber website member portal.

     The Medina County Convention and Visitors Bureau is hosting the 6th Medina County Photo Contest.  The contest will run until June 29, 2012 which is the dealine to submit photos.  Contact the Medina County Convention and Vistors Bureau for contest registration forms and guidlines.    

           Bil-Jac Foods, Inc will be featured in the lastest Corbin Bernsen shot-in-Akron movie.  Their products will appear in scenes for 3 Day Test, a Christmas comedy.

BUSINESS AFTER BUSINESS HOSTS FOR 2012 & 2013 

The following months in 2012 are open:  August and November and most months in 2013. 

The purpose is to provide members with an opportunity to showcase their business and provide Chamber members an occasion to make and build upon contacts with new and existing members.  This is a Chamber event scheduled through the Chamber office.  The Chamber will only schedule one Business After Business event per month, the last Tuesday of the month.  Scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis.  Downloadable guidelines.  

 

MEMBERSHIP MEETING SPONSORS IN 2012 - 2013

For $100 plus the cost of your lunch you receive an exhibit table at the registration area, signage inside the meeting room, may place literature at each place setting, recognition from the Chairperson of the Board and a 30 second commercial at the beginning of the meeting.  Download guidelines.

2012 MCO ENROLLMENT

This year, the Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation (BWC) is giving employers the opportunity to upgrade their resources by selecting a new Managed Care Organization (MCO). The MCO Open Enrollment period begins April 30 and ends May 25. We are urging members to take advantage of this chance to select CompManagement Health Systems (CHS) as your MCO.
