The Washington House Inn is offering an Interurban Trail Bicycle Special Sunday-Thursday nights during the month of October. The Bicycler's Special is priced at $139.00 (+ taxes) and includes:

Cedarburg's newly renovated Cedars III bowling alley has reopened and is bigger and better than ever! With 6 lanes to offer, they've expanded the square footage of the facility flooding the new space with natural light, affording the opportunity to add 14 plasma TVs with NFL Sunday Ticket on Direct TV. Are you ready for some football?

 The Cedarburg Merchant's Organization has announced the first of the First Thursdays starting October 7th. Thursday visitors will enjoy late night shopping until 8:00pm or later in the Downton Historic District on the First Thursday of each month. | Recipe of the Month
Berry Breakfast Trifle
Looking for a way to use up the last of the fall berries? This delicious trifle is always a hit.
8 to 10 leftover blueberry or other plain muffins or cake, to make about 6 cups when crumbled 4 cups sour cream 1/2 to 1 cup brown sugar 2 cans blueberry pie filling 4 cups fresh blueberries, raspberries or blackberries
Crumble muffins into large crumbs. Mix sour cream with brown sugar, sweetening to taste. In a trifle dish, layer half of the crumbs, half of the sour cream mixture, one can pie filling, and half of the berries, repeat. Keep chilled until ready to serve. Best when served within 6 hours.
A lower-fat version can be made with yogurt instead of sour cream and brown sugar. If substituting yogurt, serve within 2 hours.

October 1 From the Heart's 3rd Annual Witches Night Out, a bewitching twist on the usual shopping, hors d'oeuvres and fun! 5:00-9:00pm.
October 1 Cedarburg Farmer's Market takes place every Friday from 9am-2pm June through October. Find a wide variety of fresh farm produce, organic foods, flowers, herbs and perennials, fresh coffee, bakery and artisan crafts.
October 2 Craft Crawl - Visit three craft stores, making a project at each. Make a beautiful clipboard at Legacy Scrapbooks; at Giralte Beads & Yarn, make a beaded pen holder (which can also be used as a bracelet) to attatch to your clipboard; at Glaze, paint a clay magnet to accompany the clipboard. Then stop by Delicately Delicious and get a cupcake. Plus join us for a 1pm movie - "It's Complicated' - at the Rivoli. Plan on 20 minutes per location, and start whenever you choose; $40, 10am and 5pm. Register at 262-377-3642. October 2 Riveredge Nature Center is working with the Wisconsin DNR on a long-term project to restore a breeding population of lake sturgeon to the Milwaukee River. This is the 5th year that sturgeon - reared streamside by volunteers in a trailer on Riveredge property - will be released into the Milwaukee River. 10am Registration/Check-in 11am-2pm 11:15am Ceremonial Drumming and Blessing of the Sturgeon. 11:30am-2pm Sturgeon Release. Cost: $5 per person. October 2 Milwaukee Mandolin Orchestra Concert at the Cedarburg Cultural Center. Celebrate the Milwaukee Mandolin Orchestra's 110th anniversary at this very 8:00pm special concert. October 2 The Cedarburg Cultural Center hosts "Fashion Through the Decades" A fun look at fashions from the 1890s through the 1980s. Relive the fashion trends of your grandmother all the way up to the present. Enjoy a fascinating look at fashion, plus a delicious luncheon catered by From Scratch Catering. Tickets are $25. October 3 Maxwell Street Days at Fireman's Park: Cedarburg's popular flea market, that takes place four times each year (May 30, July 18, Sept. 5 and Oct. 3) rain or shine. - Over 1,000 vendors with a varied selection of antiques, collectibles, crafts, fine arts, fresh produce, seasonal items, sports memorabilia, flea market items and more 7am-3pm Rain or Shine.
October 7 First Thursday--Cedarburg merchants remain open late on the First Thursday of each month.
October 7 Grand Opening Day for Cedar Chic at their new location on the 2nd floor of Jung Furniture in downtown Cedarburg. Shop an eclectic mix of new and vintage merchandise. October 8, 9 & 10 Arts Weekend/Studio Tours A three-day county-wide gallery tour featuring an exciting variety of artists and talents. Highlights include a silent auction of artists' work at the Cedarburg Cultural Center (CCC) on Friday, including entertainment by pianist Mary Broad, refreshments and many demonstrations, plus artists drawing and painting from live models in the cultural center's windows. Tour approximately 50 studios of local artists in Cedarburg, Grafton, Thiensville, Mequon and Port Washington. October 17 The Lakeshore Symphonic Band's fall concert is scheduled Sunday, Oct. 17. The band has been delighting Ozaukee County residents since 1976. As LSB is presently seeking a music director, concerts will be under the leadership of guest conductors for the 2010-2011 concert season. 3pm at the Cedarburg Performing Arts Center.

October 29 Cedarburg Farmer's Market takes place every Friday from 9am-2pm June through October. October 31 Cedarburg Pumpkin Walk--Hundreds of lit jack-o-lanters will line Washington Avenue for your spooky enjoyment on Halloween night.
