Holiday Greetings from Cedarburg!

Cedarburg is especially lovely this time of year blanketed in a fresh snowfall.  Grab your mittens, skates and snowshoes and make your way to Cedarburg soon to enjoy all the fun winter activities.

Cedarburg is situated nicely between two wonderful nature centers.  Schlitz Audubon Nature Center, located South of the Inn in the town of Brown Deer, offers scenic views of Lake Michigan and nice cross-country skiing trails.  Riveredge Nature Preserve is located North of the Inn and offers outdoor activities in addition to multiple educational seminars and classes.  You can rent cross country skis and snow shoes at Local Motion Outfitters here in downtown Cedarburg or bring your own ice skates and skate on the outdoor pond near Cedar Creek.

Rooms are booking quickly for The Washington House Inn's Mid-Week Getaway Package which is offered Sunday through Thursday nights during the months of January through May.  This popular package includes overnight lodging in the best available guest room, an afternoon wine & cheese tasting, a $25 dinner certificate to a local restaurant and continental breakfast the next morning.  The package rate is $150.00 plus taxes.  The following restaurants participate in this dinner package:   The Anvil Pub & Grille, Morton's WisonsinInn and Galioto's Vintage Grille.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank each of you for choosing The Washington House Inn as your preferred place for lodging when visiting southeastern Wisconsin and for making 2009 such a memorable year.  As we bid farewell to 2009, we look forward to seeing you all throughout the upcoming year.  Happy New Year!
Sincerely,

Wendy J. Porterfield, Innkeeper

January 8 Each Friday in January, Riveredge Nature Center will host an Adult and Family Night Ski event.  Enjoy the beauty and serenity of a crisp snowy evening on skis along a 1-1/2 mile trail, lighted by the soft glow of lanterns, or ski other trails lit only the light of the moon and stars. Refreshments served at the end of the trail. Call or check the website for current snow conditions. 5-8:30pm; Adult $4; 13 and under $2.
