With the holiday season just around the corner, Fox Valley United Way is once again partnering with the Aurora Regional Chamber of Commerce to reach out a helping hand to those who are having difficulties during these tough economic times. While many of us are telling our children that there won't be a lot of gifts under the tree this year, many children in Aurora will not have any. That is, unless we do something to help. The Fox Valley United Way wants to help those needy families who won't have the means to provide gifts for their children this year. Unfortunately for these families, many other resources in the community have dried up. Therefore, the Fox Valley United Way is partnering with the Aurora Regional Chamber of Commerce to ask businesses and their employees to consider making it a brighter holiday for area children. Here is how you can make a difference this holiday season: Adopt an individual or family: contact Fox Valley United Way at (630) 896-4636 and speak with Deborah Collins for details. ˇ Make a monetary donation: checks made payable to Fox Valley United Way, can be mailed to Fox Valley United Way, 40 West Downer Place, Aurora, IL 60506. Cash donations can be dropped off at this same address during normal business hours. Or visit www.uwfoxvalley.org to contribute by credit card. ˇ Purchase a gift card from a local grocery store to help provide a holiday meal for the family. ˇ Drop off an unwrapped gift at the United Way office or the Aurora Regional Chamber of Commerce office located at 43 West Galena Boulevard, Aurora, IL 60506 Please note: All gifts should be unwrapped and donations of any size are appreciated. Deadline for all contributions is Friday, Dec. 11. Underneath everything we are, underneath everything we do, we are all people. Connected, Interdependent, United. And when we reach out a hand to one, we influence the condition of all. That's what it means to LIVE UNITED.
