Would you believe it's Thursday again already? I hope you have all had a nice week since the last time I wrote. First I would like to thank all of you who took the time to send letters into Guy Fieri of
Diners, Drive-ins and Dives.
For those who may have missed last week's newsletter, I requested that you, our patron, write a brief email describing what it is about the China Dine-ah that makes us worthy of being on Guy's t.v. show. We have included the email address link again this week, for you new readers and also for those of you who did not get around to it last week. You may have already deleted last week's newsletter, so here you go with the link, just click on it.

Your efforts are greatly appreciated and we could certainly use the free publicity that a visit from Guy would bring. Also as I mentioned last week, those of you that write and have an interest in that t.v. show will be sent a "heads up" should we get chosen. Who knows, you may even be on your favorite t.v. show! I have had a lot of you tell me how much you love that show and how neat it would be for the Dine-ah to be featured.
Below I have included four photographs of Leopold's Restaurant, from my recent to India, showing where bullets pierced the structure during the 2008 terrorist attacks on Mumbai. The owners made a conscious decision to leave the damage as a reminder of the attack. The gunmen actually stood outside the restaurant peppering the interior with semi-automatic gunfire killing several patrons and staff members and injuring many more. I actually took these photos with my daughter's camera and just recently received them from her. It left enough of an impact on me, that I felt I wanted to share them with you. (As a side note, I did not attend my daughter's wedding in India due to the concerns put out by the state department regarding travel to India at that time.) I sat and ate wondering what those people must have been thinking as they hid under tables and scurried to get into the kitchen and out of the path of the gunmen. It was not my most enjoyable lunch, but one that I will never forget.

Wishing you all the best and next week will prove to be one of our busiest weeks of the year with Mother's Day falling on Sunday. I hope to see you all soon!
A reminder - two more weeks of Wednesday Trivia Night until we break for the summer. This has proved to be huge success and we will start it back up next fall. Special thanks to Jon James for hosting and to Michelle Glidden for her great idea!
Also, thanks to you our patrons and to all our staff for making everything we do at the Dine-ah possible.
