Message from the ChairRob Crow, Class of 2006, Lloyd Industries
Leadership Spokane's job is to engage, train and mobilize
our region's emerging leaders. Your job
is to nominate candidates for the Class of 2011.
We're all agreed that times are tough. Our community needs Leadership Spokane now,
more than ever.
We need Leadership Spokane's stewardship. Tough times demand
that we evaluate how we are doing our work.
Is a particular task central to our mission? Are we allocating resources properly? Are we mobilizing our people in the most
creative way? Can we meet a particular
objective more efficiently by working with a partner?
We need Leadership Spokane's sense of community. Tough times remind us that our common sense
of purpose is crucial and underscores the importance of civic
responsibility. It reminds us how much
we depend upon one another, and that our strength as a community lies in every
single one of us working together for the good of all.
Leadership Spokane helps us get on with the hard stuff that
is essential to moving forward.
Our newly revised and updated application is posted on the website.
Take a moment now to refer employees
or colleagues who are ready for the challenge and encourage them to join us for
a cup of coffee at an information session. Applications are due April 12th.
Leadership Spokane is here to help your business and this
community succeed. Questions?
Need an application or want to refer a candidate? Visit the website or
contact Executive Director Linda Finney at lfinney@leadershipspokane.org.
An informational briefing will be held in the SRBC (801 W Riverside)
on 31 March from 5:15 PM - 6:15 PM. The Youth Leadership Spokane
application is also available on our website.

25 March 2010 at The Fox
The Spokane
Symphony and Fox Theater hosted Leadership Spokane for Arts Day. The
Class of 2010 had the opportunity to sit on stage with the orchestra and
Maestro Eckart Preu for a leadership exercise, "Orchestrating Greatness."
Maestro Preu noted, "Your team must trust you. As a leader, you are
always committed to something that hasn't happened yet. Leaders have the power
to make good things happen-or to destroy them." You can purchase your own Leadership Spokane vest by visiting our website: www.LeadershipSpokane.org/Shop.htm.

"I've received the online
newsletter and it's great to see what Leadership Spokane grads are up to!
I've recently been appointed as a board member for STCU. I've been an
STCU affiliate committee member for a couple of years now, and this board role is really interesting and worthwhile. I've definitely mentioned in my board bio that
I'm a Leadership Spokane grad! (And proud of it!)."
