Message from the Chair

Rob Crow, Class of 2006

And we're off!!!!  The Alumni Steering Committee has set a goal of making the Alumni Association a natural and ongoing extension of the Leadership Spokane program.  In so doing, we hope to increase the relevance of the entire program and the impact that it has on the Spokane community.  We have identified the following 6 projects to meet that goal and will shortly begin working on them as subcommittees to make them a reality.
  1. Website upgrades for better communication to and among Alumni
  2. Survey of Alumni to be sure we understand their needs
  3. Mentor/mentee program
  4. All Alumni reunion after graduation
  5. Speakers Bureau
  6. Inviting Alumni to attend class tours
It is not too late to help out.  If you would like to join us, please contact the office and indicate in which area you have an interest.

Rob can be reached at robcrow@lloydpans.com.

Leadership Thought

"I have been asked several times, 'What did you learn in Leadership Spokane?'  I know I discovered more about my community, resources and how I can contribute.  However, as I reflected on this question, the answer is deeper. I learned the true meaning of 'Servant Leadership.'  Listening, awareness, empathy, stewardship, and the importance of building a community, these are just a few important characteristics of Servant Leadership.  For me, most of these characteristics come naturally; however, Servant Leadership development is an on going life-long learning process.  I aspire to sacrifice self interest for the good of the group, or community.  My hope is others can do the same."

-  Wendy LaMorte, Group Health, Class of 2009
