Many still have not complied with CCR and DUNS number requirements, according to a recent HUD reminder.
Housing Notice H 2011-01, provided owners of PRACS, 202's, 811's and Project-Based Section 8 with 60 days to obtain DUNS & CCR numbers and submit the required certification. That was 15 months ago.
In May, HUD will implement a new Funding System. Owners who are not in compliance with DUNS and CCR requirements by April 23, 2012 will risk suspension of their housing assistance. REAC Tip - Flammable Materials |
Did you know? Motorcycles, with gasoline in the tank, may not be kept inside a residential unit or in a residential building's basement that is not designed for such storage.
As it may be a tough sell to convince an inspector that a motorcycle does not have gasoline in the tank, the best course, to avoid a deficiency for improperly stored flammable materials, is to assure residents keep these possessions on the parking lot.
REAC has recently reminded inspectors to use good professional judgment and some common sense when evaluating flammable/combustible materials during a REAC Inspection. But as far as REAC preparation goes, property staff are always better being over-prepared than underprepared.

APPS Tip - Signatures |
Did you know? You can have board members, officers or owners sign separate 2530 signature pages.
This can be a real relief for organizations whose principals are spread out geographically or who travel often. Please do remember, while HUD will accept a counter-signed 2530 Submission Package, you must gather all the signatures together and submit them in one package to HUD.

Federal ISS Training - an EIV & TRACS Requirement
This is an annual requirement for EIV Users, Coordinators and those employees and consultants who view and handle the EIV print outs for your property. You can take this training on-line from HUD, but many find it cumbersome and confusing to navigate, preferring instead, to participate in a group training that provides the same Certificate.

If you have already submitted your AFS or registration process or you are no longer affiliated with HUD properties, please DISREGARD this email.
Please be advised that expected filings/ transactions to date for the March 31, 2012 submission deadline are MUCH lower than anticipated.
We are expecting a large spike in TAC support and HUD Secure Systems resources demand before the filing deadline of March 31.
While the TAC will not be able to increase capacity to handle the projected spike, we want to remind you that the suggested times to contact the TAC for User ID and Password activations are 7:00am to 8:30am and 6:30pm to 8:30pm EST, Monday through Friday.

Does that mean me?

HUD will verify you have a current and accurate HUD 2530 on file at Contract Renewal and even hold up your Rent Increase.
Any time principals of the owner or management agent change (and that means new board members on the non-profit boards too) an updated 2530 filing is required.
