What's New - MAP Guide (with APPS issues)
 
The new Multifamily Accelerated Processing (MAP) Guide became effective  November 1st.  Much anticipated, the new Guide incorporates  previous publications and changes into one new document and clarifies processing for both lenders and industry participants.    (See our Helpful Links below.)
 
An unfortunate aside - the long awaited HUD Lender's MAP Guide contains incorrect terminology and ambiguous direction regarding HUD 2530 clearances and the use of HUD's APPS system. We will be working with Multifamily Housing to address this. Stay tuned.

APPS Tip of the Month - LEAN & Flags
 
Did you know?

Financing applications submitted through HUD's LEAN proccessing will not proceed off the cue if any of the principals have HUD Flags.  All the more reason to run a Flag Report in APPS prior to submission.

WASS Tip of the Month - Key Code Letters

Did you know?

 

If you requested a HUD Access Key Letter in Business Partner's Maintenance on September 30th, it will not be arriving.  Seems HUD's processing system did not batch correctly. 

 

Not to worry, simply go into User Maintenance under your WASS ID and select "Resend Letter."  The Access Key should arrive in 5 - 10 days.

Inspection Scheduling Reminder
 
REAC has announced that no Physical Inspections should be scheduled the week of Thanksgiving, the week before Christmas and the week after Christmas.  This is old news but bears repeating as we approach the holiday season.
 
If you need help preparing for an inspection, contact us for a referral to a qualified pre-reac inspection firm.

The Office of Insured Health Care is currently working on a separate handbook governing Section 232 Residential Care Facilities.  Until the new handbook is released, the MAP Guide will continue to govern this program, along with LEAN notices.

HUD 2530  -

Does that mean me?

 

 
HUD will verify you have a current and accurate HUD 2530 on file at Contract Renewal and even hold up your Rent Increase.
 
Any time principals of the owner or management agent change (and that means new board members on the non-profit boards) an updated  2530 filing is required.
  
Don't get caught out of compliance!
