What's New |
The changes in APPS for Organization Change submissions continue.
In an effort to keep the Field Offices in the loop on org changes, HUD amended APPS approval processing to include providing notification and approval rights to the Field Offices. Folks are telling us they are getting calls from numerous Field Offices regarding the same 2530. Yes, that is the new process. All Field Offices who are potentially affected by the org change are now part of the approval process.
In order to keep the submissions from languishing in the system, HUD made further changes in the July release. The Field Offices now only have 10 days in which to weigh in on the matter before HQ takes over and proceeds with processing.
Our hats are off to HUD for making this a more efficient process, but unfortunately, some Field Offices did not receive word that the original signature page still goes to HQ. HUD promises they will send out a new memo to the HUB Directors clarifying the signature page issue.
If you receive a request from a local Field Office asking for the wet ink signature pages from your APPS Org Change submission, tell them "No" and refer them to their assigned 2530 contact at PPSD. (See our Helpful Links below for a list of assigned contacts.)

REAC Tip of the Month |
For specific situations, the Hub Director can now order physical inspections directly from REAC.
HUD Notice H 2010-17, issued on August 23rd, provides additional authority to the Field Offices to request REAC re-inspections. For folks with failing scores, a re-inspection may be the only way to raise the score or avoid a Flag. A copy of this new notice is available in our Helpful Links below.

EIV Tip of the Month |
Did you know?
Receiving the message: "No contracts available for selected participants" is one of the most common EIV complaints, but can be one of the easiest to cure.
Users lose connection to their contract data because they forget to submit a new Authorization Form in EIV for their Coordinator's approval every 6 months. Security Awareness testing in EIV is an annual requirement, but an electronic UAAF must be completed and approved every 6 months.
