HUD strongly encourages the implementation of non-smoking policies in public housing units. Environmental tobacco smoke can migrate between units in multi-family housing, causing respiratory illness, heart disease, and cancer. The elderly and young populations, as well as people with chronic illnesses, are especially vulnerable to the adverse effects of smoking.
Smoking is also a frequent source of fires and fire-related deaths and injuries.

REAC Tip of the Week: EHS Deficiencies
|
Did you know?
Exigent Health and Safety Violations can occur in any of the 5 inspectible areas. These types of deficiencies do not have the typical varying severity levels of 1, 2 and 3. Any exigent health and safety violation is considered "Severe" and as such, is automatically a Level 3 violation.
All EHS deficiencies must be corrected immediately. An Owner Certification of Repairs form must be delivered to HUD within 3 business days of the inspection. See our Helpful Links below for a copy of this form.

| EIV Tip of the Week: Re-certify Users |
Did you know?
All EIV Users must be re-certified by their Coordinator no later than October 30th. Re-certification requires Users to complete a User Request in EIV. Then, Coordinators need to log-in to accept and certify their Users.
All Users who have not been re-certified by October 30th will automatically expire and will no longer have access to EIV.
Additionally, please remember that Coordinators are required to re-certify annually. Be sure to check the Certification Report to assure you do not miss this annual deadline.
