By now, all project-based subsidy properties should know: HUD has delayed implementation of the rule entitled "Refinement of Income and Rent Determination Requirements for Public and Assisted Housing Programs." (See our Helpful Links below for access to the full document.)
For many, the delay of this rule provides precious additional time to complete the multi-tiered access steps necessary to gain full working use of the Enterprise Income Verification (EIV) system. Mandatory use of EIV will now go into effect on January 31, 2010.
Consider this time as a gift. If you do not yet have access to EIV, do not continue to procrastinate. Many realized this summer: gaining full working access to use EIV can take up to 2 months. Start now!
