What's New!
|
HUD handbooks, forms and systems have seen a significant increase in the frequency of updates and changes. Until recent years, these were much more static. The joys of modern technology allow for timely and relatively inexpensive edits, seemingly monthly.
Affordable Housing Professionals, at all levels, must stay on top of changes. Here are some ways to reach that goal:
- Join professional organizations (Find a suggested list under our Helpful Links below)
- Attend industry meetings
- Sign up for a HUD Listserv (Find a connection to the RHIIP list through our Helpful Links below)
- Read Murphy Consulting's APPS & REAC News and Notes
- Share information, newsletters and industry meeting dates with your colleagues
Working together, we can all stay on top of HUD changes. |
HUD System Tip of the Week
|
Did you know?
Upgrades, patches and improvements to the HUD Secure System are scheduled quarterly. The most recent PIH REAC Release was last Friday.
Watch for notices of future system adjustments and planned black-out periods on the HUD Secure System's Legal Warning page. This page appears just after you log-in to the HUD system via the Single Sign-On screen. Be sure to read the "Message of the Day" section.
If you have recommendations for specific improvements or clarifications you would like to see in any of the sub-systems under the HUD Secure System umbrella, let HUD know or let Murphy Consulting know. We talk to HUD routinely, we'll be sure to pass on your suggestion. Contact us today.

REAC Tip of the Week
|
Did you know? The most recent changes to REAC inspection protocol are documented in the Compilation
Bulletin, Revision 1 (CBR1), effective January 2008.
CBR1 includes many important clarifications to the
inspection protocol, including instructions that city sidewalks and streets are
no longer to be included in the inspection, and that missing or damaged
escutcheon plates (trim rings) on sprinkler systems should be counted as a
defect.
CBR1 is
essential reading for every owner and manager who is subject to REAC
inspections. You can access Revision 1 here or purchase it as part of a CD-Rom Resource set from Murphy Consulting: Preparing for Reac Inspections© |
