Recycle Your Old Electronics at Walmart
January 10th!


As hundreds and hundreds of households replace old electronics with new ones from the holidays, they are wondering how to dispose of them responsibily.  Coming to the rescue is an electronics collection at Walmart in Galesburg, Illinois.  Scheduled on January 10th from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, the collection is sponsored by Walmart, Recycle for Illinois, TCR&WMC, and the City of Galesburg.  The event is hosted by Walmart. Can-Do Contest

For over seven years, the Western Illinois Regional Council and the Tri-County Resource & Waste Management Council (TCR&WMC) have sponsored the Can-Do Contest to celebrate America Recycles Day in a thoughtful and educational way.  This year, the TCR&WMC made some changes.  Click here to read the full article... 


Student Volunteers Promote School Recycling
Lincoln SchoolLincoln Intermediate School in Monmouth has taken the next step in recycling.  The Lincoln Leadership team, which consists of ten student volunteers, has been collecting classroom waste paper, cardboard, plastic soda and water bottles, and food cans.  They gather the recyclables at the end of each Tuesday to be ready for Maple Recycling pick-up service on Wednesday morning.  Click here to read full article...
