Fill'er Up! New Water Bottle Fill Stations

Looking for great tasting, cold filtered water to refill your eco-friendly reusable bottle? Then look no further as a new water bottle filling station across from gate 8 is your best choice for fast, simple refills. The filling station will help reduce the amount of waste generated at the security screening checkpoint - which includes an estimated 50,000 plastic water bottles a year. A recent study by the Container Recycling Institute reports that Americans buy an estimated 34.6 billion single-serving (1 liter or less) plastic water bottles each year. Almost eight out of ten end in a landfill or incinerator. Restaurants and gift shops at DCRA still carry ice-cold, bottled water for your convenience and are the preferred option if you do not have a refillable bottle.

United Airlines' 787 Takes Flight

United Airlines' first 787 Dreamliner has completed its first production flight as Boeing makes final preparations for delivering it to United at the end of September. The aircraft took off from Boeing's Paine Field in Everett, Wash., on Sunday. Boeing pilots flew the 787 around the Seattle area for more than three hours as part of planned tests of the aircraft's controls and systems. During the flight, crew members examined the 787's onboard systems at high and medium altitudes. They also checked backup and safety elements, including cabin pressurization, avionics, navigation, and communications systems.

That's A Wrap...Parking Area Upgrades Completed

All parking areas are open! DCRA recently completed a summer-long project of parking area upgrades and reconstruction to provide for more efficient vehicle circulation, better security lighting, pavement resurfacing, and pavement marking. In addition, the parking ramp was cleaned and re-marked in preparation for the upcoming busy winter.

Breakfast Begins At The Wurst

Breakfast is the most important meal! According to experts "more than 60 percent of Americans do not eat breakfast every day." So, why not start your morning and trip off right with a new breakfast location at DCRA. Usinger's Wurst German Bar features hearty breakfast options as well as quality morning sandwiches as a grab-n-go option. The Wurst German Bar is located across from gate 5.
