TSA Modifies Terror Alert Levels

The Department of Homeland Security recently revamped the National Terrorism Advisory System, or NTAS.

The new system will more effectively communicate information about threats by providing timely, detailed information - repeated announcements of threat levels have been discontinued.  Travelers should report suspicious activity to law enforcement and practice the new TSA safety campaign "If You See Something, Say Something™".

NTAS alerts will be tailored to the nature of the threat: including specific expiration dates and will not contain a constant warning of a current threat, but instead will be sent directly to law enforcement agencies or communicated broadly to the public through media channels.

CELL PHONE LOT MAKES PASSENGER PICK-UP A BREEZE

The airport's cell phone lot, marked by a brown and white sign on International Lane nearing the airport, is an area where motorists can wait in their cars for their arriving passenger. Once the arriving passenger reaches curbside with luggage in hand, a quick phone call alerts the driver that the passenger is ready to be picked up. The lot is less than a minute away from the terminal.
