Frontier is on its Way!
(And the "Spokesanimals" are Saved)
Republic Airways Holdings announced April 13 that it will keep the Frontier name and the now famous "spokesanimals" as part of the new brand of its unified airline with Frontier and Midwest Airlines.
It was also announced that in honor of its service in Wisconsin, a badger will now be showcased on the tail of its aircraft, joining Foxy, Larry the Lynx, Griz the Bear, and all of the other much loved Frontier spokesanimals.
Frontier Airlines begins its daily non-stop service to Denver from the Dane County Regional Airport on Monday, May 3. The inaugural flight arrives in Madison at 6:20 p.m., and departs at 6:55 p.m. |
"Weathering" the Trip
Lightning...heavy down pours...fog...can sometimes lead to flight delays and cancellations. Even if the sky is clear in Madison, bad weather in other cities can delay departures or arrivals from other airports. While flight updates are posted on our website, www.msnairport.com, it is best to contact your airline to find out if your flight is on time, delayed, or cancelled. |
TSA Says: New Gadgets, No Worries at Check-points
Seems everyday we're introduced to new electronic devices, like E-readers and the I-pad. Well, there's good news if you can't leave home without them. The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) says these items that are smaller than the standard laptop computer DO NOT have to be removed from your bag or their cases at the security checkpoint.
The TSA does require that electronic devices the size of a standard laptop or larger must be removed from their carrying cases and screened separately from the rest of your luggage. This includes Playstations, full-size DVD players, and video cameras that use video cassettes.
However, the TSA reminds travelers that these smaller gadgets still may be screened separately if officers feel a secondary look is necessary.

Building Toward the Future
Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle recently approved $760,000 for the Dane County Regional Airport to expand Taxiway "L". The project on the east side of the airfield will allow for greater access for general aviation (non-commercial) aircraft, and for construction of up to six new hangars. Construction is expected to be completed in August 2010. |
