WWII Quilt Presentation Coincides with Quilts of Valor Display

ABILENE, Kan. - Sue Reich, World War II quilt expert, will present "Quiltmaking 1941 to 1945: The War Years," at the Eisenhower Presidential Library and Museum. The program begins at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 12 in the Visitors Center auditorium. Admission is $7 for the general public and $5 for quilt guild members with membership cards.
Reich, Connecticut quilt historian, is a certified American Quilter's Society quilt appraiser and has authored or co-authored four books and several major articles about WWII quilts. Her talk coincides
with the second annual display of the Eisenhower Quilts of Valor Challenge on exhibit now through Nov. 30.
The Quilts of Valor exhibit is free and open to the public in the second floor gallery of the Eisenhower Library building. Each year the challenge period runs from January through August. Quilt submissions may be sent in anytime during the challenge period. The quilts are exhibited mid-September through November and then distributed to wounded service men and women.
