Annuals a-BuzzWe hope you had a chance to come to the plant sale at the Arboretum two weeks ago. What a beautiful sight to see all the lovely plants under the big tent. If you missed us this year, mark your calendar for next. Not only do the proceeds benefit the Arboretum, but the plants are truly wonderful. I would also like to extend a big thank you to our tremendous volunteers, the Arboretum staff, and the Johnson County Extension Master Gardeners for their help during the sale, and to our growers for the wonderful plants. We couldn't do this without all their help.

Golf Event Needs Players, Sponsors

The annual Overland Park Council President's Green Space Tournament will be held on September 24, with proceeds benefiting the Arboretum. This year's event will be held at St. Andrews Golf Club, Overland Park's recently redesigned and beautifully maintained community golf facility. A 4-person scramble format with games on the course, a silent auction and a raffle with prizes will ensure a wonderful opportunity for all to support the Arboretum.

Please join us on September 24 to play. For our non-golfing supporters, please join in the fund raising effort by purchasing a raffle ticket. Details on the raffle will be announced soon.

For more information contact tournament co-chair Carol M. Tracy at carol.martin@gouldevans.com or at 816-701-5383.
Whole Foods Photo Exhibit Whole Foods
Supports FOTA

Next time you are at Whole Foods Market at 91st and Metcalf, stop in the café to enjoy the Arboretum photos taken by our photo committee.

FOTA volunteers distributed Arboretum handouts at the 119th Street store on Earth Day, and proceeds from the WFM bicycle drawing were donated to FOTA.

WFM has also participated in our "Adopt-a-Garden" program for two years. We appreciate the ongoing support of Whole Foods Market.  Photo by Margaret Maher-Williams
