Join us for the monthly meeting of the STNC board.  Refreshments at 6:30 and meeting begins at 7 p.m. Arrive early to meet your board members and representatives from the City.   Following are some items on tonight's agenda:   

The LAPD has a presentation regarding new equipment for the Foothill Station.    

The board will vote to fill vacancies on the board. Stakeholders have stepped forward to fill seats in Region 4 and Group Rep but we are still looking for someone to fill the Region 3 seat.  This is the area on the east side of Commerce to Lowell, above Foothill.

The board will see a short presentation and vote to support neighbors regarding improvements needed since the Station Fire to the drainage system above their homes. The STNC is requesting all jurisdictions come together to fix before the heavy rains.  

The Land Use Committee's Ad-Hoc Samoa Team has found irregularities in the 64-unit Samoa Apartments application and recommends a letter to Paul Krekorian. 

Public hearings for the new Fresh & Easy Market will be next Monday and Tuesday in Van Nuys, 10 a.m.

The STNC will vote to support a Community Impact Statement regarding the new Citywide Sign Ordinance.   

The STNC has received four letters of interest from the following stakeholders wanting to volunteer to fill the Region 4 vacancy:  Nigel Burns, John Rogers, Barbara Stam and Ginny Buonaro.  Ed Novy has submitted his interest in the Group Rep position.

We are still looking for a volunteer to fill the Region 3 vacancy.   

Region 4 Position: If you are a stakeholder who lives, works, owns property in the area below Foothill Blvd. between Lowell and the 210 Freeway.

Region 3 Position: If you are a stakeholder who lives, works, owns property in the area on the east side of Commerce Ave. to Lowell Ave, above Foothill.

Stakeholder Group Representative:  (from STNC Bylaws v 2.95)  Eight Stakeholder Group Representatives shall be elected at large.  These Representatives shall be elected from the pool of community stakeholders representing business and educational, faith-based, and community, service, youth and special-interest organizations located in the community or meeting regularly in the community.
