REMINDER -- Retaining Wall Ordinance Meeting is this coming
Tuesday, August 23, 2011, 6:30 p.m.

Council District 2 Field Office

North Valley City Hall

7747 Foothill Blvd.

Tujunga, CA 91042

Do you have a retaining wall ?  Thinking about putting up a retaining wall ?  Are you in the construction field and build retaining walls ?  The City of Los Angeles is reviewing a new ordinance for Retaining Walls and they are bringing a public meeting to Sunland-Tujunga to discuss the new ordinance and get feedback.  This is a great opportunity close to your home or business to participate.  If you have an interest in Retaining Walls or know someone who does, please let them know about this meeting to be held at North Valley City Hall at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.  More details below.

Join City Planning staff in a series of public meetings to be held throughout the City of Los Angeles to discuss and provide feedback on issues related to retaining walls.

The proposed ordinance is a result of concerns that were brought up in meetings for the Baseline Hillside Ordinance which became effective in May, 2011. Your input will help identify concerns surrounding retaining walls that will be the basis for the development of a new retaining wall ordinance. The meetings will include a presentation from planning staff and be an open forum to discuss the related issues. Everyone is welcome, so invite anyone who may also be interested.

New Date Set for LADWP 2011 Rates Input Summary

Session

NOTE:  GREG BARTZ, LADWP NEIGHBORHOOD COUNCIL LIAISON ATTENDED THE LAST STNC MEETING AND TALKED ABOUT THE NEED FOR THE RATE INCREASES. THE STNC BOARD VOTED THAT THEY SHOULD WAIT FOR THE RATEPAYER ADVOCATE TO BE IN PLACE BEFORE ANY RATE INCREASES ARE APPROVED.

LOS ANGELES - To allow additional time for outreach and public input on water and power rates, the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP)  has rescheduled the 2011 Water and Power Rates Input Summary Session from this Thursday, July 28 to Thursday, August 25 at 6:00 p.m. As previously planned, the meeting will take place at the LADWP's downtown headquarters, 111 N. Hope Street, Los Angeles. The meeting will also be webcast
The additional time will allow LADWP time to gather more input from customers on potential strategic investments, take additional public comment and analyze the feedback received from our customers.  The Input Summary Session will be held both in person and online.
If you are planning on attending the Input Summary Session on August 25, please RSVP and indicate whether you plan on attending in person, or if you would prefer to participate online.
