THEIR 2010
FREE SUMMER CONCERT: THE AROHI
ENSEMBLE
The McGroarty Arts Center in Tujunga will be holding its free annual summer
concert featuring The Arohi Ensemble, a dynamic blend of ragajazz, accentuating
original compositions and improvisation steeped in the classical ragas and
rhythmic dynamism and excitement of Indian music. Their global approach to
creative music making also incorporates authentic global musical traditions
along with jazz and the layered counterpoint of Western chamber music.
The concert begins at 4:00 pm- 5:30 pm
on Sunday, August 29, 2010 at the McGroarty Arts Center, 7570 McGroarty Terrace, Tujunga, in the Upper Parking
Lot. Guests are encouraged to bring chairs and picnic materials as this concert
will be outside and will be a relaxed family-friendly environment. The event is FREE and open to the
public.

SWIRP Draft EIR - Notice of Preparation & Public Scoping Meeting
The City of Los Angeles is initiating the environmental review for the Solid Waste Integrated resources Plan (SWIRP). The City will be the Lead Agency for the preparation of an Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for the project. The EIR process begins with a Notice of Preparation and Scoping Meeting. The Scoping Meeting will be held on August 26, 2010. Please see the attached documents for more information on the Scoping Meeting and how you can provide input during this phase of the EIR process.
