The holiday season is almost upon us and with it, the
prospect of friends and families getting together to enjoy each others' company
over an abundance of holiday offerings. If you are the host, however, the last
thing you want is to be locked up in the kitchen by yourself to tackle
preparation.
There is probably no getting out of the kitchen--don't all
parties end up there, anyway? But if you can't join the crowd, why not have the
crowd join you? All it takes is a little planning.
Have them put together their own salads or hors d'oeuvres or
even dim sum. Arm them with skewers and give them plates of meats, fish,
assorted vegetables and cheeses and let them go at it.
Speaking of skewers... if you have your guests put together
tomato, bocconchini and basil skewers as well as the finish for a Thai hot and
sour soup, you need only be concerned about the main dish and dessert. Save
time!
Working together is not only a great way to socialize, but
it also gives guests the chance to satisfy their own tastes.
