Local Disaster Declaration Reminder
ALL Fireworks Banned In Travis County |
| ALL fireworks prohibited |
Travis County Fire Marshal Hershel Lee would like to remind the citizens of Travis County of the Local Disaster Declaration and the prohibition on sale and use of fireworks.
ALL FIREWORKS ARE PROHIBITED
Fire Marshals, Travis County Deputies, Travis County Constables, Travis County Parks Officers, Police Departments and Emergency Service Districts will be patrolling looking for violations of the fireworks ban.
Officers will also be looking for violations of the current Outdoor Burn Ban.
Violations of the Disaster Declaration (fireworks ban) or the Outdoor Burn Ban are Class C Misdemeanors and could result in a fine of $500.00.
The goal of this Disaster Declaration and enforcement efforts is to prevent the occurrence of a fire that could quickly result in a disastrous wildfire. |
Celebration in Honor of Flo Adams To Be Held at VVFD on Wednesday |
| Flo was always in charge of the bake sale table |
The Volente Fire Department lost one of its long standing supporters last week - Mrs. Flo Adams passed away at age 93. Many of you may know her as the smiling face that talked us into that extra calorie from the baked goods table at the annual fish fry. Or you may have seen her standing next to the new fish fryer that her family donated for her 90th birthday. Even those who donate blood at the annual pancake breakfast/blood drive may know her as the "clown" giving cookies and juice in the bloodmobile.
Please help us celebrate her life with your shared memories. The VVFD Auxiliary and the Adams family are hosting a festive celebration and lunch in honor of Flo. Please join us on Wednesday, July 6th at 12:00 Noon at VVFD for barbecue and joyful memories.
Regards,
Jacque Potts
