Bullick Hollow Road - Tree Cutting and Other Work In Progress |
On Feb 6th, Don Ward (far left in photo) of Travis County's Roadway Maintenance Division met with Peter Strickland (center), other Strickland family members and Lonnie Moore discuss the tree trimming that has begun on Bullick Hollow Road. Mr. Ward explained that BHR has one of the highest accident rates in Travis County and the County is trying to improve line-of-sight, as well as preparing for some roadway improvements to begin in April. The County will be providing a surface treatment and restriping the roadway. Perhaps more important, Mr. Ward stated they now plan to improve the shoulders in a manner similar to what TXDOT did on FM 2769.
The Stricklands expressed concerns that the County might be cutting too aggressively, unncecessarily removing to much of the natural buffer that the trees provide to residents of BHR. At the end of the meeting, it appeared an understanding had been reached as to the level of clearing that would be achieved. |

Coyotes In Volente |
FYI - I saw another coyote in my yard @ the corner of Davy & Debbie drive ~10:00 a.m. I chased it away and it ran down the ravine toward the dry lake bed.
