Postdoctoral Fellowship 
in International Relations, Politics, Policy or Political Economy 
(Canadian Studies)

 

Salary: £31,117 per annum inc LW


The Institute for the Study of the Americas and Queen Mary, University of London, invite applications for a Postdoctoral Fellowship in a politics-related field with specialist knowledge of Canada. The successful candidate will be expected to promote the study of Canada in the UK by:
  • organising academic events (seminars, workshops and conferences)
  • coordinating and editing publications
  • fundraising for events and publications
  • developing new collaborations in London, the UK, and internationally
  • teaching in international relations/political economy
The post will be located at the Institute for the Study of the Americas, with teaching responsibilities mainly located in the Department of Politics at Queen Mary.

The successful applicant will have a PhD in a relevant field, specialist knowledge of Canada, and experience in teaching at either undergraduate or postgraduate level.

The post has been made possible thanks to funding from the Foundation for Canadian Studies in the UK, as well as from the University of London's Vice-Chancellor's Development Fund and Queen Mary University of London.

The appointment shall be made on a one-year fixed-term basis, starting in September 2010.

The Aboriginal Studies Circle was set up in 1995 as special interest group within the British Association for Canadian Studies. It now has its own website.
