Dear Friends,
According to ancient texts, disease takes place in the body only during the change of seasons. For instance, in Autumn the restlessness of nature and climate variation - some days are colder and drier, others warmer and humid - can create imbalances in the body that manifest as nervousness, anxiety, fears and feelings of being scattered. Left unchecked these feelings weaken the immune system and the body is more susceptible to diseases.
Here are some tips to help the body adjust better to Autumn and both repair and prepare for Winter time:

reduce sweets and sour foods
-
increase bitter and astringent tastes
-
eat warming and nourishing foods: soups/stews
-
practice Yoga regularly and include breathing techniques with long and smooth flow of air
-
drink lots of water
Seasonal changes invite us to cleanse, to get rid of the irrelevant and toxic in our lives, to nourish and secure the body for the opportunities and changes that are ahead in the horizon. When we cooperate with the rhythms of nature, growth and healing naturally manifest and peaceful and harmonious feelings override all stresses.

Indeed, the spirit of cooperation is an opportunity for all to come to fruition and reach their best, as exemplified by nature. Diversity urges cooperation with others, with nature, with mind, with body, and with spirit. The only position of long term strength is cooperation. Cultivate it!
