We are seeking the best of the best to do 15 minute business related presentations at the Business to Business Expo on November 8th 2011

The Chamber of Commerce is creating a web based business resource center that has 15 minute mini seminars. The seminars will then be available online and on kiosks around the community.

We are looking for professionals in: Business Law, Accounting, Insurance, Marketing, Permitting and licensing and many others. If you are selected to teach one of these mini-seminars your business will receive exposure in several publications, at chamber events, and in online materials.

Give back to your community by helping other businesses succeed. Participate in this worthwhile project by contacting Dale Steenbergen at 638-3388 or dales@cheyennechamber.org. Make sure to have in mind what topic you would be most qualified to present about.

Congratulations Habitat for Humanity of Laramie County!

September 26, 2011 - Cheyenne, Wyoming - The Corporation for National and Community Service announced today that Habitat for Humanity of Laramie County (HFHLC) has been awarded a $10,000 September 11th National Day of Service and Remembrance 10th Anniversary Challenge grant for its one-of-a-kind weatherization project which is held in conjunction with Cheyenne Light, Fuel & Power and AARP Wyoming.

Funding will be used to purchase weatherization products such as weather stripping, insulation, caulking and safety features such as fire extinguishers and carbon monoxide detectors. Funds will also be used to help beautify the neighborhood in which the homes are located.

Created in 2010, the unique weatherization project empowers over 150 local volunteers to commemorate September 11th by weatherizing a block of home for low income, elderly and disabled residents in their community. This year, local volunteers weatherized twelve homes and beautified a city neighborhood in west Cheyenne which resulted in the contribution of 600 hours of volunteer service.

"This event allows Habitat for Humanity of Laramie County, Cheyenne Light, and AARP Wyoming to raise awareness for the need of safe and affordable housing during an important time in our nation's history," said Fran Smyth, HFHLC Board President. "Receiving these funds will allow all of us to continue serving more families, empowering local volunteers, and observing the National Day of Service and Remembrance".
