The Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce Red Carpet Committee has several upcoming Red Carpet Openings to welcome new businesses to the Chamber.

This morning, at 10:00 am in the Chamber boardroom, we are hosting a Red Carpet for Bahmer Consulting Group.

The Bahmer Consulting Group provides association management and public affairs consulting in Wyoming and the West.  Specializing in healthcare and education, The Bahmer Consulting Group develops and executes advocacy agendas, plans and delivers professional education programs, and provides consistent communications across customer organizations.  Additionally, The Bahmer Consulting Group helps organizations and individuals get their message out with creative marketing and public relations, public speaking, and writing services.  Contact us today at 307.287.4594, or via email at steve@bahmerconsultinggroup.com, or check us out online at www.bahmerconsultinggroup.com

Also in the Chamber boardroom, at 10:30 am, we will be hosting a Red Carpet for ReThink, LLC.

Keynotes.  Coaching.  Consulting.  ReThink, LLC helps people improve their personal and professional lives by focusing on the basics of communications and relationships.  Geared toward audiences involved with sales, Ron and Steve will keep you laughing and help you see the world of selling through their own eyes.  So many times, we put limitations and expectations on ourselves when the concept of selling is really quite simple: stop selling and start building relationships!  There are simple things we already do (or should be doing) everyday that can help us develop into outstanding salespeople.  We just need to recognize what they are!  You'll come away refreshed and looking for your next client!

Immigration Compliance for Employers Seminar

Click the above icon to register for the event!

Please respond by Friday, August 26, 2011.

Nationally, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has initiated immigration audits on 2,338 employers in 2011, signaling continued focus on employers' employment verification practices. The agency has also criminally charged business owners, employers, managers, and supervisors for knowingly employing undocumented workers. In addition, Wyoming has proposed new laws, separate from federal laws, potentially requiring employers to use E-Verify.

Please join Holland & Hart, LLP for a seminar in which they will discuss the patchwork of federal and state laws and how to limit your company's potential liability. They will answer these commonly asked questions:

  • How can I prepare for a federal immigration audit and investigation?
  • Which industries are being targeted for immigration investigations?
  • What are employers required to do to verify the immigration status of new hires?
  • How should I respond to Social Security no-match letters?
  • What is E-Verify and should I be using it?
  • What are viable options to sponsor immigrant workers?
